Kevin WInbush, an American Gospel preacher, singer & songwriter from Eunice, Louisiana

The Message, The Music, The Man

Keven Winbush is an anointed American gospel preacher, singer, and songwriter who resides in Eunice, Louisiana.  He's released two singles from his album, "Hearts On FIre" (Sweatless Victory & "Go" [I'll Be With You]).  His inspirational message in the CHRISTFAN PROJECT is for all those in God's church and for those who haven't heard and/or believed in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Born and raised in Opelousas, Louisiana, Keven attended the Church of God in Christ, and learned both scriptures, as well as Traditional & Contemporary Gospel songs.  As a child, he always loved hearing The Word, the music, and had visions of praising the Lord before many people.  One day in a service, a preacher asked him a simple question, "Young man, what do you want to do for God?"  He said, "All I want to do is praise the Lord."  The preacher called him up to sing.  But when put on the spot, his knees started knocking!  He had never previously sung solo - alone before a crowd of people.  At 11 years old, he remembers being laughed at in church because he tried to sing the song, "Precious Lord, Take My Hand", like his Mother Irene could sing it.  He knew all the words, and how the music should sound, but didn't understand The Message; he hadn't experienced life and didn't have The Power of God to deliver it to hearts and souls.  He was crying as people were laughing, but he never stopped singing (He had started the song in key Z... way too high! LOL). Only one person came to him afterwards, his Mother, Irene.  She hugged him and told him, "You did a great job!"  Keven replied, "I was a joke.  You saw all those people laughing at me!"  She said, "You didn't do it for them... You did it for God."  "You are just saying that because I am your son", he said - as he fought back tears.  From experience she said, "Son, delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart".

Keven continued singing in the church, and various high school and college choirs.  Pursuing what he loved, he graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with a degree in Vocal Music, learning music theory, the Negro Spirituals, composition, and their musical interpretations.  Feeling empty inside and away from God, the vision he saw as a child was always before him.  Like a prodigal son, he returned home, went back to church and was eventually called into The Ministry.  After all that knowledge and training, something was still missing in order to fulfill what God was calling him to do in his Vision.  Mom (his Grandmother) once said, "Go to 'knee-bone' college and talk to God in prayer."  He took her advice, and God anointed him and gave him the Power of His Spirit to deliver the Message.  After years of serving the Lord, he is now equipped with The Word (The Message), The Music to accompany him - and as a humbled Man of God - he now presents to you The Vision:

"It goes beyond the natural abilities.  The Anointing makes all the difference."

"And they said one to another another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?"
